The Benjys mobile Delivery vehicle is a revolutionary solution to mobile vending. The vehicle has a potential total electrical demand of over 7KW if the Coffee Machine, Oven, Kettle, Fridge, and Lights were all powered simultaneously. Conventional solutions would have meant the installation of a 10KVA generator, which would have meant the vehicle would have been much larger, and more expensive to run.

Equipmake has developed a custom power control system, which continuously looks at the temperature of the equipment, and whether the vehicle is vending or driving, and schedules the available power accordingly using microprocessor control. This has resulted in a system which can be run from a 2.5 KW engine mounted alternator, and 2 x 12V batteries.

Additionally, the system incorporates an integral battery charger, which tops up the batteries overnight, and ensures that the food compartments are power managed overnight, ensuring everything is ready for the operator in the morning. The system also interfaces with the vehicle radio display, to enable the operator to monitor the system during the round.

Over 150 vehicles are currently in service.
