SignalSure

The Equipmake SignalSure System has been developed to provide instant recovery of electrical supply to the Countries Railway Signals following failure of the power cabling.

The System comprises an Electronic Fuse Unit, and an intelligent link unit. In the event of a short circuit failure of the 650V power cable, the Electronic Fuse Unit arrests the fault (preventing the in line fuses from blowing) The intelligent link units, placed strategically along the supply line, then open. The Electronic Fuse unit then re applies the power, enabling the Intelligent link units to power up one by one. As each link unit powers up, it tests the outgoing line. If no fault is found, power is supplied to the next unit, right up to the fault. This means that power is restored up to the fault within seconds of a failure, and the maintenance crews can be notified immediately of the exact location of the fault.

The system has full Network Rail type approval. Equipmake has licensed the distribution and marketing of the system within the UK to EA Technology Ltd.
